Popular Annual Event Combined with Charming Downtown District and Proximity to Lake Add to Appeal of One of Acadia’s North Georgia Communities
Get ready for a clucking good time, Atlanta! Primed and ready to celebrate its 9th year on April 27 in the heart of North Georgia’s Downtown Gainesville, the Spring Chicken Festival is a bird-based bash featuring a Professional and Backyard BBQ Chicken Cookoff, 5K race, parade, live entertainment, “Re-Hatched” upcycled art and craft market, kids zone and more. The 5K is slated to begin at 9 a.m., followed by festival fun that kicks off at 10 a.m. and lasts until 4 p.m. The Spring Chicken Festival is a popular annual event that is organized by Keep Hall Beautiful, a 501c3 organization dedicated to educating citizens about environmental stewardship and organizing community clean-ups, beautification projects and other eco-friendly efforts. Attendance is expected to be even higher than in years past as the charming downtown district is filled with fine-feathered fans of all ages. This community-centered event serves as just one of many draws to Gainesville – a vibrant city that caught the eye of Acadia Homes & Neighborhoods, prompting us to build homes in nearby McKinley Crossing.
Located in the Forsyth County section of Gainesville, McKinley Crossing features Craftsman-style homes priced from the $220,000’s – many of which boast rocking chair front porches, adding to the “Southern Hospitality” feel that is synonymous with an historic city like Gainesville. Home interiors showcase special luxury touches such as hardwoods and crown molding in many of the main living spaces, beautiful gourmet kitchens with all the features one might expect to find in high-end homes, and spacious master suites with trey ceilings and oversized walk-in closets. Totally encompassed by lush natural green space, McKinley Crossing provides a scenic setting and lots of privacy for its homeowners.
In addition to the appeal of a short drive to events, restaurants and shopping in Gainesville, McKinley Crossing offers close proximity to another major “lure” to Gainesville – fishing, boating and recreation on popular Lake Sidney Lanier. The community is less than 2 miles from the boat ramp, grills, picnic tables, swimming area and playground at Keith’s Bridge Park on the shores of Georgia’s Great Lake. Also located near GA State Route 400, homeowners in McKinley Crossing are afforded easy access to Downtown Atlanta to the South, and the North Georgia Premium Outlets and Blue Ridge Mountains to the North. Students living in McKinley Crossing attend Chestatee Elementary, Little Mill Middle and North Forsyth High Schools.
We invite you to bring some of your favorite “peeps” out to Gainesville’s Spring Chicken Festival, and then pay a visit to McKinley Crossing to discover all that this terrific community has to offer. Acadia’s newly opened sales center at McKinley Crossing is located at 8210 Gracen Drive in Gainesville. To schedule an appointment with Neighborhood Sales Manager Chris Briggs to tour available homes and homesites, call 404.922.2483.
